European taillights
#11
I got my Q5 via Euro Delivery.. When I picked up the car in Germany I had orange blinkers in tail lights. I'm 100% sure they were orange because I was happy I won't have to drive with the red ones (I hate red blinkers ).
Once I picked up the car in US... the blinkers were RED ;/ I know that they didn't replace the tail lights because I marked them in EU ;-)
So my question is... is the color somehow controlled via VAG?
90% of Q5s in my area have red blinkers, but I see one once in a while with orange ones. I even recently had a loaner from the dealer with orange blinkers. ( I didn't compare the part #s though).

It's the actual LED's that are the difference in color, not the programming of it. You have to replace the whole light housing to change the color. Did this on my A3.

Can VAG-COM make the blinker only blink with the thin row of LEDs (even if they're red) instead of the whole light cluster? That's one thing I like about the previous version of the Q5.

I would imagine that would be exactly the change that one would need to make with the European lights. So making those changes on a car with US lights, would give you a thin row of red LEDs blinking for a turn signal.
