I just came across these real pictures of an A7 in the Moonlight Blue, though I am unsure if this is the Metallic or Pearl effect. Thoughts?

Default moonlight blue

Yesterday we had moonlight blue, deep sea blue pearl and phantom black all lined up in the bright sun at the dealership. The moonlight blue was definitely a very greyish blue that looked black in the shade, the deep sea blue pearl was bluer and brighter in the sun, and the phantom black was a bright black rather than a flat black.

And if not, which is closer to what you say for Moonlight Blue?

The color represented on the A7 builder:

Or the pictures over here:

Thanks in advance.

Attached is another Moonlight Blue Metallic photo I found.

If someone who has seen these in person on a Q5 could advise as to which of the colors in these pictures is most accurate to what you saw, we would greatly appreciate it!

Again, thank you in advance!

I would say the second choice gives the best representation- it is more of an "executive" color to me- dark dark blue with greyish undertone in the sun. Not as deep or rich looking as deep sea pearl. I wanted deep sea blue pearl because I liked the more blue tone in the sun so I was disappointed in moonlight blue but I may get used to it.

Thanks for that clarification.

I would have preferred the former of the two options, but I think the second option is still really classy looking, and will look great on a Q5 (and, in my humble opinion, looks better than the Deep Sea Blue).

Thanks again!

From what I saw on the news a few months back, there are still too many deaths caused by people backing over people. As the technology on rear back-up cameras has improved and the price has dropped the govrenment has decided to make them required standard safety equipment on all new cars starting in 2014 (maybe 2015?). This is no different then air bags and three point seat belts becoming manditory safety equipment.

I just came across the audi.co.uk car configurator, and it shows a different hue of blue on their A7 than the Audi USA car configurator.

Go here:

http://configurator.audi.co.uk/contr...andant=accx-uk

Click on A7, go straight to Exterior, and select Moonlight Blue.

This looks more like a light back/dark charcoal gray, with barely a hint of navy blue.

So, essentially, the color line-up for 2012 Q5's is 1 white, 2 grays, and 3 blacks. This is really frustrating.

I'm heading in to the dealership tomorrow to put in my order for a Q5 and plan to order Moonlight Blue, so we'll see how it looks in July. If it's not good, then I'll just get my deposit back and decide what to do from there.

(Yes, I'll take pictures of it and post them when it arrives)
