I just got off the phone with Costco and a number of interesting things came up. One, they were appalled at the treatment I was receiving and said they would be contacting the dealership immediately. The interesting thing is they knew the dealership very well and a number of the salesman except for the clown I'm dealing with.

The Costco rep also said that last month Audi sent a letter to a number of dealerships preventing them from discounting through car buying services. She said they still have relationships with a number of dealerships but the Costco/Audi relationship is very much up in the air in terms of Audi wanting to remain a Costco car buying service customer. She assumes the same would be true for Zag but couldn't confirm that.

Anyway, thought some people on this forum would find it interesting.

My local Dealer, who is not a Costco Dealer has match the price $500 over invoice. I ordered a 2012 Q5 from them. I spoke to GSM to confirm, and he assured me no games played. We'll see, waiting for car most likely Sept.

maybe they will just offer good 'X over invoice' deals without the use of buying services

if they intend to force me to go back to negotiating down from sticker, thats a deal breaker. too much competition in this price range IMO

I've tried to use the Costco program in the past, not with Audi, and I say try because the dealers I went to who were part of the program beat even the Costco price easily.

The company I work for is part of the Audi Supplier program so I'm taking advantage of that for the 2012 Q5 i have on order. It was painless, walked in, told the sales guy I was a participant in the program, configured the car, picked a color, left 45 minutes later. ez pz.

What did you wind up paying? How much over invoice, if anything?

The supplier program is 6% off MSRP. That's basically invoice. I'm also taking advantage of it and the dealers have to honor it. It comes from Audi USA. Between that and the loyalty (2006 A4) I'm getting mine almost 5k off MSRP.

that's a killer deal, I'm jealous. My math says 6% of 50 K is 3 K though, which should get you close to invoice.
