Default Warning light - yellow fan showing in centre screen

My wife is on a business road trip with our Q5 - and the manual in the glove box! Called to say a yellow fan warning light has come up this morning but temperature is normal. Local service centre can't inform me what this means. Any insight appreciated. Steve

Yellow fan?

Can't she open the manual and try to locate the symbol that she saw?

Yellow fan in Warning panel: Catalytic Converter System is faulty and requires a check.

Emission system fault should cause the main "check engine" symbol to appear (engine icon). Is this what she's seeing or something else?

If it was the emission system fault what is the main problem and how serious of an issue is it? Just curious.

Had the same thing happen to me. My wife calls and says there is a yellow light that looks like a fan what should I do. I got online and looked up the warning lights for a Q5 and found that the "fan" was actually the check engine light. took it to the dealer and they found a vacuum leak at the rear main seal. Kept the car 16 days and gave me a loaner. Car has been fine ever since.
