Default Extendable Trunk Liner

Been researching mats and covers for the Q5 trunk area, for when I haul a lot of gear and not wanting to mess/scratch up the interior. I came across this extendable trunk liner that also protects the sides. It's suppose to fit with the rear seats up or folded down.

You can buy the original Audi, it is more costly for $60

And here's a different approach with soft materials; Canvasback Cargo Liner.

Here's an in-depth review with a 2009 B8 Avant:

For these "canvas" style ones, why not just thrown down a paint tarp or similar? Seems awfully expensive to buy these for like $150, no?

I love, love, LOVE my canvasback much more than the rubber tray I had previously. Covers your entire truck interior protecting all surfaces all the way around.

Regarding the question about the paint tarp, this is precision sized for our vehicle, so no excess and no need to get creative on how to secure the cloth. Yet everything still functions with it in place, so I can do pass through, or lay the seats down just like without it, but everything is protected.

Since it is lined material, wet items are safe for transport, but if you expect puddles of water, the canvasback won't be a good solution. For my needs, it has been perfect!

Does your Canvasback's velcro stick to the carpeted sides, or did you have add velcro?

I did not need to add anything, everything was already stitched in and in perfect position for our car. I have a picture somewhere, let me find it and post.

2nd the Canvasback, I love mine. I still use the Audi hard cargo cover on top of the Canvasback if I carry something that may leak.

They even custom made a console cover for me (my dog will occasionally stand on it from the rear, so I wanted it covered when she's in the Q5.)
