I use ivory dishwashing soap to wash my vehicles (have done so since the 70s) [and hold your flames it does not remove wax -one of the most gentle soaps out there]

I then use Mothers products for wax.

For wheels I use wheel wax every six months

I have switched to Centric pads for all my cars so I have no dust issues on my wheels

Some of us are possessed...I apply Griot's One Step every 4 months or so--not because it needs it but because I just like knowing I have a 'current' treatment on the buggy (and living in Portland...watching that rain bead up makes the winter months pass faster). It's a polish and sealant that is simple and easy to apply and lasts very long. Looks great (and I have a Black Q5). I apply a sealant on the wheels twice a year and that helps with the dust, though I do use the Armour All treatment in better weather just to show the Q5 at its best.

There are lots of good options for detailing supplies. I recommend Griot's Garage polisher and starter kit for beginners interested in doing the work themselves. The instructional video is very helpful for newbies. I like Mother's products, but I lean toward Chemical Guys for most of my supply needs. Chemical Guys stuff works (and smells) great!
