Default Fluids Changed

Hit 1k and went for a full fluids changed. I purchased coolant, front/rear diff fluid, transfer case fluid, transmission fluid, and oil from ECS tuning.

I used a Schwaben extractor for the oil, front/rear diff, and oil.

You can get all of the front diff fluid out from the front diff fill port. I removed the wheel and lowered the front passenger side below level so almost all of the fluid was at its lowest point. I was able to extract the full liter. I then jacked up to level and filled accordingly. For the center diff I placed the front on ramps and extracted about .75L which from what I can tell is factory fill. The center diff is supposed to use the ridiculously expensive oil with friction modifiers. I backed off the ramps and filled accordingly.

Oil is self explanatory.

I drained the coolant and used a vacuum filler to refill completely with nor air bubbles.

Transmission I just drained while on the ramps and measured what came out and replaced it with new since I do not have my vagcom cable to measure the temperature during the fill process.

Rear diff has a drain plug so the fill process is self explanatory.

Why?

Are you planning on changing all fluids every thousand miles?

Perhaps he meant 100k? I hope you're not draining fluids out of a car with 1k on it..

How much fluid does the rear diff take?
I have 1L diff fluid left, hopefully I don't need another one.

1L is just right for the rear.

I have always done a full change of very fluid on every car I've owned at 1k. After that except for oil I then go to 30k. Probably overkill but it's cheap and most of the initial wear has taken place by then. Oil I'll do every 5k or so even though I could go longer.

One thing to consider... Warranty. You could risk actually voiding the warranty if you do this on a car under warranty.. Many times dealers and MFGs will use ANY excuse to not cover something...

I never bring in a car for warranty work since every dealer (in my area) I have dealt with is incompetent.
