Default Footwell lights

Two questions for your people....

1. Do you have red footwell lights in your Q5/SQ5? Where did you get them from and how do you like them? Bright?

2. Have you turned on the function of footwell lights on when driving? Especially if you have red LED's. Does it look as good as I think it does? Also did you use the hidden green menu or carista?

I have a few friends that have red footwell lights in their 18-wheelers....looks amazing but then again, the pedals arent that far in and under the dash so maybe they just generally look better.

Thanks,

Yes I have red. Got them from the led vendor here (deautoled). Very high quality. No issues. I have not turned mine on all the time through coding but I think they could be without being offensive. the red light stays at your feet - no glare up at eye level.

I also ordered and installed the LED footwell lights from (deautoled) but stayed with white. I did use Carista to code the lights to stay on while driving. Nice soft white light in the footwell at night and is not distracting. I thought about red but decided on the white to match the other LED lights that I installed in the interior.

Thanks for the suggestion everyone, we really appreciate it!

Yes red footwells are popular, they have night vision properties and are relaxing when you have ambient lighting while driving.

Blue pops nicely and you will receive a lot of compliments from blue footwells, they are a clean subtle mod.

Just the footwells can be found here:
New LED Footwells for Audi models that are equipped with OEM LED Footwells | deAutoKey

But we suggest the entire LED kit - it includes puddle, warning lights, trunk, dome, sun visor, glove box - might as well do it all at once
Complete Interior LED Kit [Crisp White / Error Free] fits: Audi Q7 [05-present] | deAutoKey

Let us know if you have any questions

Thank you

Thanks,
I wonder the same thing about the green menu, thought I saw a thread on here that showed how to do it but I can't find it now. I do have the red and get compliments on them all the time. Would love to have them on all the time, and I believe you can adjust the brightness in the green screen as well. If I'm wrong someone please correct me.

Does anyone have the coding / instructions to leave them on while driving? It is a great feature that the MK6 GTI offers, looks great.

Yes, white LEDs from the same company. Just a bit tricky to get at and remove without breaking something. I installed the entire LED kit. Rear footwells were the trickiest.

I found it helpful to place a small mirror on the floor of the footwell which enabled me to see what was going on as I tried to remove the OEM lights and then install the LED replacements.

I did the same thing. Mirror under the front seat in order to see the rear footwell lights. Moving the seats all the way forward and up as far as they can go definitely helps. Rears are tricky and you just have to take your time and be patient so you don't end up cracking or breaking the plastic housing.
