Fresh Oil Change MMI Not Showing Full
Just changed the oil on my 2016 Q5 2.0 drove the car for a while and the MMI is only showing 1/2 to 3/4 full. Last oil change showed full after change. Should I drive around longer and see what happens? Any suggestions. Thanks for your time.

Are you checking the level on level ground? and are you sure you added the same amount of oil?

How are you checking it? Make sure you are on a flat surface and the car has been driven then turned off for about an hour. This gives time for all oil to settle back into the pan. Try this a couple of different times and see if it reads differently.

OK I have no idea what is going no now. My MMI is now consistently showing no information available for oil. I read other threads and the only way I could get a reading was to do the following:
Open Hood
Put Key In Ignition but do not start car
Then Check on MMI
Sure enough it worked.
They mentioned it could be a hood switch? I guess I need to take it to the dealer. Really strange. Thanks

Jerster-
The factory "oil level" system is notoriously unreliable. Convenient, yes, if you don't mind walking back and forth. Useful, if it trips a low level alert. But the dipstick is just too damned simple to fail. And that third-party model on Amazon is half the price of a gen-you-whine VWG one.

This is spot on! My digital gauge mumbles different readings depending on the tides, the dipstick never fails, and it gives me peace of mind, specially when I drive a former 2.0T oil burner (fixed 20K km ago).
One thing though, every time I open the bonnet to measure the oil I leave the ignition key on (engine off) and guess what? When I close the bonnet and get back to the driver seat my screen shows exactly the same measure as the dipstick, it's good for a couple of days and then the bipolar behavior starts again, one morning shows 90%, in the afternoon 75%, back to 90% the next day, then 80%, etc...
