Default Fuel Door Won't Lock

The dealer's service people pointed out that the fuel door isn't locking when the doors are locked (and alarm system is armed). I tested it and he's correct, although the fuel door closes, it's not locking. I'm wondering if anyone knows if this is just a matter of replacing the Fuel Door Actuator?

Before I go through all that, I was just wondering if it was possible that it could be something else, like a blown fuse or something similar.. And I don't think WD-40 is going to make a difference, as all parts are moving easily/freely, it's just not locking..

If all parts are moving it , would have to be locked.
Simply close the fuel door, Lock the car with the remote control, but hold your hand on the fuel door, you must feel or hear the operation of the actuator

I went through a similar situation a few weeks ago, WD-40 did the trick for me, but in my case the lock was stuck and didn’t move freely. So far it keeps working but I have the spare part in my trunk just in case it fails again. Good luck!

I feel and hear nothing. And looking at those instructions, it looks as if a whole lot could go wrong trying to remove the assembly surrounding the tank opening. It's not even clear how to get that thing off. Do you have to punch four holes in the corner of that piece of hard plastic to get something in there to pry it off? Is it also kept on there with clips? I'm not understanding the instructions. It seems the easy part is actually pulling the actuator off, unplugging it, and replacing it. To get to it, without destroying anything in the process, seems pretty difficult..

So simple
If you are not sure how to replace it then visit the dealer
