Goodbye Q5
Just traded in my 2011 Q5 for a 2013 Touareg. It was a great car and I enjoyed all 30k miles. Decided I was ready for a change and to move into something slightly larger. The Touareg feels much heavier and not as nimble as the Q which I guess is to be expected. I must say...i'm surprised with the quality and tech features in the Touareg, they seem top notch.
Anyway, until next time! |
What powertrain did you go with?

Welcome to the party, after 3 years and 70k miles our 2009 Q5 was replaced by 2012 Touareg TDI as we got tired waiting the news Q5 TDI would be imported to States.

Went with the TDI. Wish they would bring the Q5 TDI state side. I also got tired of waiting. Its nice having so much torque. So far i'm loving the Touareg but I still kind of miss the Q5 in a strange way. Wish I had space for both in my garage.

Good choice. I got tired of waiting, too. Audi's decision to bring the hybrid before the TDI is beyond puzzling to me.

I went the other way. Traded my 04 V8 for Q5. Q handles more like a sports car but miss te ability to drive over stuff so to speak.

Those older Touraegs were impressive off roaders!
The latest haves same features as old ones but it's sad that V8 TDI nor transfercase nor air suspension is imported to US while all that is available in Europe and Australia. In Europe there is two drivelines available 1) Torsen middle differential (with either steel springs or air suspension) 2) Hi/Lo with middle lock (with either steel springs or air suspension) |
