Here is how I got into this mess:

1. I was messing with the Green Menu, and one of the options was to erase and update – well, it erased, but, I didn’t have the update 😉 –
2. So, upon reboot, it went to a Green screen (EmApp..xxx) and then Red Screen searching for metainfo file.
3. Downloaded the HN+_EU Firmware instead of US and installed that on my US based MMI
4. Now it just boots up and shows the borders, some colors, etc…looks like its going to the appropriate menus, but, cannot read it without the text showing up
5. Went back in with VCDS, 5F, Adaptation, Channel 6, was still set to 1, set it back to 0 and saved it, then went back in and set it back to 1 and saved it.
6. Still cannot get into Green Menu

Oh, and BTW: I do NOW have the correct Firmware, just cannot get into the Green Menu to install it! If there is any way to force the Green Menu on restart or get me back to the Green / Red screen, I'm all ears!

Try this:
1. Unzip and copy to SD card.
2. Put the SD card in the MMI.
3. When prompted press the center ****.
4. After the script is done you will see confirmation screen.
5. Remove the SD card and reboot MMI

Thanks, Spijun! Tried this many times..activates script, try to get into the green menu several times and nothing. And I've been in the green menu before, hence the mess I've gotten myself into, by loading the EU firmware vs. US. So, I just purchased a used unit on eBay and I'll hope this fixes things. They have a 30 day money back guarantee, so if it doesn't work, I'll send it back and try something else. Dealer wanted $2300! So, that isn't even an option. I was even looking for an after market unit that would have CarPlay and the latest bells and whistles, yet, still work with the Audi controls and keep everything cosmetically in-tact, but, there really aren't too many other options out there...

If you need I have a Map 8R0060884EM NAR 6.16.2 ( not last map but...) and Firmware for High + 0942 and activator for map

I hope you know that you need to remove the component protection in that unit you are purchasing on ebay
