The production of your Q5 has been completed and it is planned to leave Europe by boat on May 30th..
The ETA at the port of Halifax is expected around June 9th.
Usually, it takes about 10 days to 3 weeks to be delivered in dealer area.
All theses dates are estimated !
Your commission number, xxxxx

Try this site:
The PWL Group
Then under liner schedules, select west and east coast usa and Volkswagen
A pdf of the scheduled ships will download
Your car may be on the vessel Zenith Leader arr Halifax 10Jun
Once you know the vessel name, you can track it on several websites. Just google the vessel name.

Thank you both . it looks like the right ship
arrives halifax 10 jun
i called audi customer relations 800-822-2834/1/1
they were not very usefull.
they told me that the dealer is responsible for giving me the tracking and VIN details
the dealer does not seem the know how to get that info
i need the VIN number to complete my insurance registration , if not, i cant drive the car off the lot.
once the car is made, they absolutely must know the VIN as its built into the car by the factory
maybe my dealer does not have any computers or know how to use a phone to call the factory (;

For insurance, generally you can take care of that at delivery if you don't happen to have access to the VIN before then, especially since until you actually take delivery it's not actually "yours" yet.
They should be able to fax a temporary card to the dealer or otherwise get you something you can use. If you really need to, I wouldn't expect there to be a major issue with having a copy of your insurance for your previous vehicle (assuming it's the same policy) just for proof that you yourself have coverage (treating it like having a loaner) until you get home and can print out the temporary/permanent card.
I think I just used a copy of my traded-in vehicle's insurance card until I got the materials for the Q5 (could print out a card online after adding it to my policy, then eventually get the "official" one in the mail later).

I've always had a 48 hour grace period to get new car insurance switched over. More often than not, I phone in the VIN to the agents office and they've emailed me a temporary card to use until one is mailed out. They could also email to the dealer if required.

The ship my car was on (Firmament Ace) 'BROKE' after loading my car. It went in circles off Emden for about 10 days and was very late arriving in Brunswick. I was NOT a happy camper
