We just did a 750 mile round trip up to the Thousand islands and back to Connecticut. I had all 3 kids in the back for a total of 5 of us. The Q5 2.0T returned 27mpg calculated by me (computer said 28.5). Average highway speed was about 75mph. I couldn't be happier with the Q5s performance.

As most know the biggest factor when comparing the mpg is
frontal area, weight and driving style and I think my wife's driving style has the most impact on EVERYONE's mpg

My 250 can get better mpg than her Q5

I have a 3.2...

In almost exclusive city driving, I get about 16-17 mpg with my lead foot.

When I drive in S mode (like I have been the last few weeks), it's about 2 mpg lower, 14-15 mpg.

With my 2012 3.2 (800 miles) I'm seeing around 20 MPG average which is about 50-50 mix of highway and stop-n-go. In the city which is almost all short jumps between stoplights I get around 15-16 MPG, and I've seen as high as 25 MPG on the highway so far without resetting the computer. EPA rating aside I think the car hits its average fuel consumption as advertised, but there are many variables that can affect the mileage you get.

Default 2.0 T mileage report after 7,000 miles

I drive about 500 miles each week with about 60% city/suburban driving. I get about 20.8 mpg calculated through fuelly. I do keep the roof rack on all the times and I don't know if that affects the mileage in a significant way.

Last week I took the car for a 500 mile round trip that was pretty much all freeway driving. I got 25.5 mpg in driving conditions that couldn't be more optimal - no traffic, no additional passenger or cargo, and the speed staying between 65 and 75 mph. I noticed that the car's mpg drops significantly if the engine rpm goes higher than 2,000.

The point of all of this is that I was expecting to get numbers close to the 22/27 ratings since I try not to floor the gas paddle.

Would love to know the actual mpg numbers from fellow 2.0T owners.
