After 12 fillups my wife is averaging 25.8mpg on a mostly (60-70%) highway commute. This is actual via Fuelly.com. I would not say it is driven in a "spirited" manner! It is just driven "normally" probably 70mph on the open road. Our 2005 Toyota Highlander got around 22mpg on this commute.

I just got back from a 1000 mile round trip road trip with my 2.0T Q5. I averaged 28.7 MPG going and 28.3 MPG returning according to the DIS. Car was loaded to the hilt with "stuff" to the point of needing the passenger footwell for overflow. No roof racks used. 93 octane going. 91 octane returning. 95+ percent highway driving at speeds between 65 and 75. Cruise control on 50 percent of the time.

wife is a 'spirited' driver even in stop and go dfw traffic and her 45 mile commute is usually in the 23 to 25 mpg range on the display...

According to Fuelly, I'm getting 23.6 mpg in mixed driving. In comparison, my 2010 A4 Avant got about 2-3 mpg better.

2.0T 2012 Q5
Fuelly gives an average of 24.6 with 7000 miles. Probably 60-70% highway.

8000 Miles on the 2.0t. Consistently getting 22.4 mpg city only. Infrequent spirited driving due to primarily having the family in the Q. This is calculated manually by me. Mileage seems to improve as the engine breaks in. My B7 2.0t gets a consistent 24.6 mpg city and spirited but it's 500lbs less as well as 2 fewer passengers (29k miles).

23.2, according to fuelly in our 3.2 and some of this has been with a trailer (which dips it down to about 18mpg according to the computer). We don't drive very aggressively.

The EPA ratings are pretty accurate for me. I've gotten 23.5 to 24 overall since new (now at 5500 miles) on my 2012 2.0T doing about 40/60 city hwy. Mine is mostly recreational driving (I don't commute in it) and often with one or two bikes on the roof and carrying a load. Out on the road it gets 30 MPG or better pretty easily as long as there's nothing on the rack. With the rack and a load it's more like 28 Hwy. Driving more aggressively in town will get closer to 20.
