Default Installed 10.25" Android Head Unit (Pics)

Installed this android headunit from RSNav. It's the same company as the 8" one someone on this forum also has I believe. The price was not cheap at $725, but I will say it is a quality product and it arrived from China in a week. There's a thread on Audizine where a representative from the company will actually answer questions and troubleshoot any issues you have. Overall, it's as fast and responsive as most common android tablets out there today, with a more than sharp enough resolution. Install was pretty easy, if you've changed a head unit on a car before then you would be able to do this as well. Everything is literally plug and play without the need to splice or solder any wires at all. The old screen and system can be put back at any time for warranty work etc. The Android UI is like a 2nd layer that sits on top of the original AMI/MMI system, and you can switch back and forth at will.

Looks great. thanks for sharing. Hope it comes with google apps and google maps support and maybe 4G.

My main reservation is no support for:
Microphone with 5m cable length and 3,5mm jack connector, that goes into dome light, same as OEM and same as Kufatec bluetooth kit microphone part no: 36338-1.

Not sure which display I would choose, but probably 7" since it looks more OEM . Hope it supports pre facelift backup camera radar lines too.

----
After consideration for non mmi radio concert prefacelift have upgraded to 7" android touch sceen and removed all my other add ons I.e. Fiscon/kufatec Bluetooth hands free telephone and RS-1103 interface for back up camera. 7" android back up camera support comes with radar lines unlike my previous installed rs-1103 Interface.

I installed the 8.8" Android system which is same resolution as the 10.25" system. https://www.audiworld.com/forums/q5-...14-q5-2943919/

Yes it has 4G support, google apps and google maps.

If you have OEM backup camera with lines (which I have), it will display normally on the MMI overlay screen. There is a setting for OEM vs add-on camera.

( I used a blade to remove one of the microphone guideline protrusions and it became compatible with RHD dome light). Then they will not have much to worry for RHD or LHD as only front facia will be different for 8". Similar for 10", dome microphone with sort out RHD compatibility

Looking forward for this addition in the near future as I am not willing to loose this feature (microphone quality is perfect). Then I will discard both my Kufatec/Fiscon bluetooth kit and my RS-1103 back up camera interface (RHD).

It does have a microphone pickup on the side but I only use it for "Ok Google" and inputting navigation destinations.
As for bluetooth calling and phone answering, I still just use the original Audi AMI/MMI system and it's microphone. You don't lose your original AMI/MMI system with this, it just sits on top like a second layer and you can switch back and forth at will.

I'm using an aftermarket backup camera, but it's also supposed to support the oem backup camera system.

ZThang, that install looks great and very much akin to the new dash mounts Audi has going on. Do you have a link to the AZ thread? I might look if it can be ported to a Q7

You will find some conversation from the vendor (user A4Android) that an A6 unit is in the works. So Q7 might not be too far behind that. I would think Q7 would be easier since the Mk1 is a fixed screen.

Threads on Audizine:

10.25" Screen - 10.25” Android head unit / display (RSNAV))

7" and 10.1" Screens - Audi/Android Interface Units

8.8" Screen - 8.8" Android HeadUnit (RSNAV))

Bet it works great but not a fan of the tablet. That's one reason I got a 14.

Thanks for this...I'll reach out to them and ask about the Q7...if all goes well I'll post a full install video/photos of the product into a Q7.

I'm sure they'll be a lot of folks interested in it.

Don't know if result of your inquiry, but RSNAV News indicates a 10.25" version for A6 C6 and Q7 Mk1. https://rsnav.com/pages/news
