Just Wanted to Look, Thats All Just Look

So we stop by our dealer just to look and see the changes from our 2012 Q5
Maybe find out what our 12 is worth on a trade.
2 Hours later we are signing for a new 2015 Q 5.

No, we were just stopping in.

Picked it up the next day, even was the color we wanted. Summer and winter mats, cargo mat,
Pictures soon.

Congrats! Did you get a good trade I offer for your car? The board has had a few people discuss possibly moving out of a 2012 to a 2015 with others debating to wait until 2016 or 2017. Sometimes and early trade is good as the q5 supposedly holds it's value.

Yup, that's how it all begins. No thanks, we're just looking....

Congrats. Looking forward to pictures and details.

I think we got a fair trade for our 2012. It had 45K on it, needed front brakes and 4 tires before winter. Would cost us around $1500 to do what needed to be done plus Audi Care was expired. Yes, I would have liked more for it but it was fair for sure. I felt if we waited till the 2016 or 17's to come out our 2012 would have a far lower trade value plus many more miles on it.
Now if we get a 2017, which is suppose to be a whole new design we have a 2015 to trade and not a 2012. Just made sense to us dollar wise, plus we have a new vehicle now too.

There have been times when maintenance costs have played into my decisions to trade in too. They can figure the cost of tire, new brakes, scheduled maintenance, alingment or little annoying things that need work. All those things add up to considerable expense. The only thing in California is that we take a nasty hit on tax. But the "take away" is a BRAND NEW CAR! ENJOY YOUR NEW Q5!

Congrats xfirechief! The presumed $1000 loyalty cash will be nice too (unless your dealer said he was already burying that in his price). You only get one go-around on this earth. Might as well enjoy it!

I NEVER dare to just look; cuz I know what happens.

My wife & I knew we were up for a new car in about 3 months when our Escalade came off lease, so we decided to stop by the Audi dealer on the way home from dinner & after 9 Cadillacs (& after a very bad experience at our previously OK Cadillac dealer), check out some alternatives. To make along story short - we ended up trading in her CTS & the Escalade right then & driving home a new TTS for her & a Q7 S-line for our daily driver. "Just browsing" can definitely be hazardous to your finances

I stopped going to the San Francisco auto show since each time I went I would buy a new car within 2 months.

My A6 came courtesy of stopping at the dealer to buy wiper blades for the Q5. I had zero intention of buying a new car, but there she was in the showroom exactly as I would have optioned it. What was I to do? Congrats!
