Default Left Rear Light failure warning RE: to water ingress

Wife received Left Rear Light failure message on our LED equipped Q5 after a rain. Received the same message today after washing the Q5. Lights functional so water must be the issue. Looks like first issue with the new Q... minor but annoying after 5 years of fault free Honda motoring.

I was always concerned about the water dripping into that rear light compartment. This is one of the things that makes you scratch your head and say "what were they thinking"? I have to think Audi USA is aware of this issue and as to why they aren't being pro-active is beyond me. Why aren't dealers complaining to Adui? I just washed my car and water is dripping where it ain't supposed to be. Come on Audi, step up to the plate and fix this issue before it becomes more than a mere annoyance to your customers.

This bulb failure is most likely not due to water. The fix for this is included in the 91E6 campain. They are replacing the rear 5 watt bulbs with 3 watt bulbs. This is not a recall. It's something they do when you bring you Q5 in for service.

What bulb or array of bulbs are supposed to be replaced?

After many warnings the lower rear left bulb in the bumper actually did fail. Not sure if it was shorting after rain/washing or what but as of today it is actually no longer illuminating.

I got a rear rigt bulb failre indication this passed weekend. On a another trip later that day, it went away. Light still works. I'll certainly keep an eye on it.

Thanks!
