Default Left rear light warning

Hi folks. 2012 Q5 Premium +. I have a left rear light warning on my status screen yet all lights are working properly. Is the light on it's way out or is this an anomaly that needs to get cleared by the dealer?

TIA

Did you check the ones in the bumper when the hatch is up?

Not sure how smart the system is but a while ago a rear parking light went off, checked it and it was indeed not turning on, drove the car for a couple of days while waiting for the Amazon order. Suddenly the dashboard light disappeared and the parking light came back to life. A few days after that, same thing, dashboard light went off, rear light not working so I decided to stop the nonsense and installed a brand new bulb, no issues so far after 2 months but the light I replaced is not burnt, not at least before my 20/20 eyes. It was the original light that came with the car in 2009 though, so question is, could the filament be about to die and the monitor system is detecting it as burnt? Weird!

uncleiggy chances are the simple act of plugging/unplugging the bulb resolved the issue. A small amount of oxidation on the contact surfaces can trigger this sensitive system that reads voltage drop ie: resistance so you may well be Ok.

Makes total sense, I'm now $1.50 down on the new bulb
