Default Locking and side mirrors

I've taken ownership of my UK 2016 SQ5 + tdi. I've noticed that there is no option in the mmi to auto fold the side mirrors when locking the car.
Does anyone know if this can be activated or does it have to be fitted as an option?
Car doesn't have the auto retract on the door control. Does this mean there is no retractable motor in the mirrors and it will have to be retrofitted before the option can be activated in the menu???

Check the VIN # to see if this option was included when the car was built. You may be surprised at what you find. Good luck.

I don't know about your model, but in the US that feature was already standard in my 2014 Q5 with just the base AMI control system. Offhand I don't remember the menu setting, but I suspect it is hiding somewhere in your menus.

When all else fails, at least here in the Colonies, the dealers are quite used to new owners coming in with blank stares and simple questions about things like that. A quick stop by and they'll probably just show you what to poke to get it engaged. (Easier than taking notes on a phone call.)

On my Q5, I can access the mirror fold option by selecting:

Car
Vehicle Settings
Central Locking
Fold Mirrors

Check your joystick for mirror adjustment, if you can turn it about 180 degrees to the fold position, you have folding mirrors. If you cant, I dont have them

No option to turn the **** 180° and no option in the display under central locking. I can therefore only assume that my high priced SQ5 Plus didn't come with it as the original owner didn't opt for that option. Why you wouldn't go for that is beyond me?!

My old 2010 Q5 did have this option yet it cost so much less.

Thinking it's not a stand along option and if it's not standard then it must be part of a package.

My 2009 has got foldable mirrors, it came with the basic package, I even enabled tilting the right side mirror when reverse is engaged, I did that with Carista. I find it wired that a more modern and equipped Q5 doesn’t have such a basic option

Agreed! As mentioned my Q5 had such an option but on a top model car to not have it is very disappointing. Even my 3.0 A5 sportback had the option.
