Hey Family,

Just had my Atturos installed today. It costs me $228 for mounting, balancing, and 4 wheel alignment. Firestone also threw in lifetime rotations and flat repair. I'll install the ECS spacers (12.5 mm F/20 mm R) this weekend with my 14 year old son (it will be forced down time from Netflix for him😁!!).

use a tire calculator like this one to ensure the wheels turn at the same rate

I don't want to be buying tires EVERY year so I want to get the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's which supposedly have a better wear rating along with a 30K mile warranty. Please advise.
If you don't have to contend with extreme cold/snow/ice, perhaps the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S is worth a consideration. It's 265/40/21 so it may affect the odometer by 1% but for me the reputation, quality, ride, and performance of the Pilot Sport line is worth it. Lots of surveys and reviews (ie see Tire Rack) by folks that drive their cars much harder than I do so there must be something about these Pilot Sports. They're about $375 at Tire Rack. It may be cheaper at a local dealer (Discount Tire or Costco) if there's one in your town.

It's me but I'd never, ever use spacers just for a size bigger tire. That's just the way I think.

My had new cheap Chinese tires when I bought it. The first thing I did was throw them in the trash and buy Michelin. It's the most important purchase you will make for your car since it effects oh literally everything you are doing with it (stopping, turning, accelerating). I wouldn't run that stuff on a 20 year old Hyundai Accent. Seriously, spend a few hundred extra and get something trustworthy like a Pirelli, Continental Goodyear or Michelin.

My SQ5 came with Lexani tires which are the much cheaper alternative than oem 21" tires. They have actually been really good. Zero issues in any weather (even got to test in 6" of snow in NC). I've driven them 22,000 miles and they still have 5/32"-6/32" left. I think your comment is pretty closed minded and not accurate at all. You cant rationalize every tire based on the country they are made in because you have not tested even a small % of them. I only take advice from people that have experience and unfortunately you don't have it. I have seen several people on both q5 boards mention these tires are great so when mine are toast I will be replacing them with these.

FYI a few hundred is not accurate. Oem tires are $325+ each. Atturos are $135 each or less. $1,300 vs $540. Better check your math bud....
