Looking for OEM hitch install instructions
Does anyone know where I can find the OEM hitch install instructions? I'm specifically looking to install the physical hitch part. From what I can tell from searches is that a cross member comes out and the hitch goes in its place. Is the stock cross member bolted on? Can I re-use the bolts holding that cross member to bolt in the hitch?

The whole cross-member is replaced. Also, note that the rear cross-member has a threaded socket for the towing eye on the right side. When you replace this with a "towing" cross-member, there is NO SOCKET at all, and you are expected to tow using the hitch as a connection point.
If you are doing it yourself, you might consider welding in two robust sockets to regain the original design's towing points. Or not, since that's to hard welding jobs. |
Thanks for the installation guide and the tip about the towing eye.

Is there an updated link for this? That one is no longer working.

Does anyone have instruction to install? I have the part but can't figure out how it mounts. It's pretty big and looks like it holds more than just the trailer controller unit

Excellent instructions with lots of helpful pictures. Thanks!

Great pictures but I am wondering if there isn't a supplemental to the service manual that comes with the hitch? Certainly the service tech has something to look at.
I can say that it is not included in the OEM service manual. |
