Hell no! Too showy and very tacky.

I already find MB's recent trend to enlarge the 3-pointed star emblem integrated with the grilles across their entire model line-up to be obnoxious, so lighting it up makes it worse. Ditto for Audi's 4 rings since it's an even larger logo. Lit up Audi logo looks even worse than MB's from those pics.

But that's just my opinion. Same reason why I despise lit-up door sill logos and/or model designators.

Agreed. Seems to be very "look at me!" as though anyone else really cares what make you drive (but I guess that means it's perfect for a lot of buyers?).

I guess there are always people who like huge Armani logo on their T-shirts and LV splattered all over their purses. But, good grief, not me...not me...

I saw a BMW 5 series at the Shell yesterday with the perimeter of his rear emblem lit up with a blue light. Looked kinda cool, but I like others said I wouldn't drive one myself (unless it became mainstream and I had no choice).

Boasting an optical fiber with LED technology, the white star emblem is lighted only when the car is stationary. The "Illuminated Star" shines when the car is unlocked or the engine is stopped. It also lights up when the door or trunk is opened. Once the door/trunk is closed, the star will go off in 15 seconds.
So its not a complete look at me gimmick like the HGTuning one available...

I think everyone agrees it has gone too far once we started seeing Kia Optimas with them, but it's also a safety device. Many cars use them as DRLs.
