MMI Software Upgrades
As I wait for my new Q5 to come in, I was wondering how Audi handles software upgrades to their cars. Does anyone know if when they upgrade the software on the 2013 MMI system, will that upgrade be provided to existing owners with the current software?

It's a whole new system, redesigned from the ground up, without proper hardware support, it's not going to be the same. Of course their answer would be the standard sales pitch: GET THE NEW CAR INSTEAD. |
+1, sadly. But at least we can buy an update to the maps, soon.

MMI software comes as part of standard service action and is free. I got my updated when I was doing 15kkm checkup. Obviously this is not step change (like going to new Google powered MMI system), but just small bug fixes. Not much probably can be done with old hardware. Maps are different story. You need to buy update and these are issuesd rather rarely, once a year or less...
