"New" 2016 Q5 TDI
Got to test drive a "new" 2016 Q5 TDI this afternoon… 60 miles on it, full warranty 4 years/50K miles. Tech package, 20" wheels, sport package. Sticker is $55,270. They are asking $47,800… I'm thinking the right price is about $42,000. Thoughts, opinions?
Thanks...
Thanks...

Yes I think your about right @ 42k will come down to how much demand there is in CA.It's a wonderful machine but it's going on 3 years old - hah ! Good luck hope you get it.

I got my new '16 in late March. MSRP was around $63k and I paid around $50k. So about 20% at that time. I wrote about it in another post somewhere if you want more details for reference.
Even back then, they weren't too interested in a fire sale. They knew the TDI's were going to be sought after at some point. They also had it higher (15% I think) but came down when I said make it 20 and I'll deposit and pick up asap.
Most of the new TDIs I was watching over several months are gone. I imagine the supply must be running low by now. Good luck!

if I was in the market and could get it for $44-45K I’d probably do it. You simply can’t find another car like it in the market right now.

I agree Mythdoc. I know people say they should be super discounted because they are 3 years old but there just isn't much like it out there. The other weekend, I was pushing 37 mpg on a highway trip for a couple hundred miles. And the warranty...
I like when it starts and sounds a little diesely and tough too. Not too much, just cool sounding
Edit: I also have been following your Chipwerk info pretty closely. It's another fun thing about these cars.
