New Cabin Air Filter
What 13 months and 14K miles do to your cabin air filter, disgusting
New
Old
BTW, I used the OEM Mann filter 8K0819439B (Mann CUK 2450/1)

I didn't take pictures, but changed mine after something like 3 years and 14k miles. And it was almost identical to the new one. Same same for the engine air filter.
And heck, in my last car? That was from the era when we didn't have cabin air filters. But we survived.

I did a lot of country side driving last year, at least 9 700 miles trips, including hundreds of miles on dirt/gravel/secondary roads, I was procrastinating with this filter, I will never again!

uncleiggy I follow Audi's filter change intervals for all filters. Here in Canada that's about every 25k kms for the cabin filter.Works out to spring and fall for me.My cabin filter looks similar to yours.I live on a dirt road and there's tons of pollen. They're inexpensive and greatly improve AC performance among other things.Inexpensive and easy to replace.Well worth it.

iggy-
The good news is that with fuel injected engines and airflow sensors and ECUs controlling the fuel mixture? The system is supposed to be better at compensating for dirty filters, the same was that they compensate for thin air at high altitude. Yes, the airflow is still reduced, but the system is supposed to be able to compensate for that much better than they used to. Still, easy enough to DIY.
Now if they could only figure out a way to keep leaves and crap out of the odd places under the hood and the air intakes...
