New Problem- squeaking brakes
#51
Dealer couldn't recreate the problem yesterday probably coz they tested after a long drive, they asked if I couk capture the sound on audio or video and email it which I did. Now for them to call Audi canada customer service and advise on next steps.

25K Service complained of squeaking brakes! New brakes put in!
So last week I went in for Service and complained of the squeaking breaks.
Apparently there is a Service bulletin:
TSB@2039615/2
Anyone have access to see the details for that service bulletin?
The service rep said that they replaced my front brakes because of that service bulletin.
On another paper I was handed they said they replaced the following 2 parts
BRK LINING 132.00
SENDER 144.52
I assume that is the brake PAD and sensor??
See attached photo for details.
No squeaking since I got this service done!

Here's what I got from the dealership in Canada, an explanation on why you get break squeal. Annoying as they done have a service bulletin in Canada yet.

Has anyone tried the braking pads from EpicFriction? Looking into some feedback other than what is on their website. Besides their stopping, are they really quiet and virtually dust-free?
Thanks in advance!

2017 Q7 Brake Squeal
Purchased 2017 Q7 in Oct.2016 after 6 months backing out of my garage brakes had a loud sqeal, brought it into service and was told that Audi was aware of the problem and was working on a fix.
brake noise has only gotten worse, called Audi USA and got the same response. Over a year and the problem has only gotten worse. After spending $70k and due to the lack of consideration from Audi I'll never buy another Audi

You can take your chances and switch to a different disc pad. Others have done this. If you bug your Audi dealer they may change your pads as a courtesy, but the noise may not go away.

Our 1 year old 2107 2.0 S Line has always squeaked when it was cold out. Goes away after braking about 5 times. Without having done any real research (but knowing having some car knowledge) the one variable to me is heat. So maybe once everything is a big warmer they stop squeaking.

You can search for other threads on this topic. Does it squeal one time when backing up, and then is quiet? It is the Audi disc pads and the thin layer of rust that formed on your rotors. It is harmless. The one benefit of the Audi pads is no black brake dust on your wheels.
