Default New Q5 owner

I picked up a 2013 Q5 2.0 this week, seems to be a cool car. I love buying cars right before the next year model comes out as you can really deal.

Only issue is going to be the hitch receiver which seems like it will hang down a little far and kill the looks a little(installing an aftermarket myself). Not a huge deal as my bike rack stays on my car 99% of the time.

Here is the bike rack I use. It is a 1up USA, best rack I have ever had.

Just finished installing my hitch. It does hand down a little far but it's fine. $200 VS. paying the dealer $2,000.

The rack you have is pretty unique and looks great! I think you are in the South based on the brick house, but if you happen to be in Boston please come by and help me install one

I'm in Texas so that would be a long drive. It was very simple to install and only took an hour. Just get one from ETrailer and go to town.

Default Help with hitch and bike rack

ParadigmDawg: I just bought a 2013 Q5 and am looking to get someone to install an aftermarket hitch. What is the exact hitch you chose from eTrailer? While I'm at it, what is the exact bike rack you ordered? Still happy with both?

Default Your bike rack....

I have heard great things about the 1Up. Curious if you have had other carriers (Thule, Yakima etc) and if so, how you think it compares for ease of use.

It's the Drawtight.

The rack is a 1up USA, I love it. In the past 25 years I have owned many racks and this is by far my favorite. It takes about 6 seconds to load the bike and go.

It only takes a minute to install or remove the rack from the car.
