I have done extensive Internet searches, spoken with over 20 detailer trying to determine which sealant is the best. I realize that everyone on this forum has their own opinions and have no doubt that every modern sealant has it's positive attributes. I have decided on cQuartz, and believe this is superior to OptiCoat. I have been told that OptiCoat has recently changed their warranty policy and several detailers have severed their relationships. I will post my Mythos Black after it is detailed. Curious to hear the opinions of others...

I have OC Pro and am happy with it. Granted it has only been 2 months so time will tell.

Im interested in this discussion too. I have a Q5 coming and need to figure out what to do with it. The dealer offers something called 'Auto Butler' that seems to be applied in a car wash machine and has to be reapplied every 6 months. Doesnt sound too interesting. My 14 EOS Exec had Simoniz put on it when we bought it a year ago and it looks great and still beads like crazy.

Oh whats a person supposed to do.... lol

I have gtechniq crystal serum and am extremely happy. I also have their plastics coatings, wheel coating, and interior coatings.

Both excellent products. Don't 2nd guess your decision. I've used 4 coatings, three of them have been very good. If I was forced to select just one, it would be the CQuartz (UK) flavor.


OC Pro is kind of the grand daddy of all these coating products. Their products generally have exceptional durability without the gloss of some of the others.

I've used all of the three mentioned. I personally prefer the CQuartz UK. Gtechniq would be my 2nd, and OptiCoat Pro my 3rd. This is for the paintwork coating. I actually prefer the Ctechniq when it comes to any plastic or other coating products. For me, CQuartz simply outshined them all. Others may be slightly (very slightly) more durable, but it's all about the shine for me. Frankly, I buff the coating off and reapply (due to my OCD eyes seeing micro-marring) before the coating wears off on it's own.
If you've not done it before, it's quite easy, BUT you want to be sure to research application techniques and/or watch some YouTube videos. Again, it's very easy, but not following the correct process can make quite the mess of it.
So I give CQuartz UK my thumbs up. And really, you can't go too wrong with any of the fine products mentioned.
