Possible Carplay Retrofit ?
Hello everyone,
I’m a new member here and i found that this place is a very nice place to connect with other Audi owners like me, and here’s my story: So I bought the most basic 2017 Q5 ever (which i should have done better) and then i found out i can do stuff with it, the first thing is to paint the wheel and de-chrome the grille, and after that.... I put a chinese aftermarket Carplay unit and a backup camera in it
The only problem that I cannot use VCDS to unlock the hidden green menu, therefore i have an acceptable carplay display but no sound 😕 . Have anyone here ever done such thing or is it just me ? I would like to hear any idea from everyone, thansk

Do you have auxiliary audio jack or AMI jack in the vehicle?
I enabled the green menu via VCDS. Did you try pressing the appropriate buttons and see if already active? Is it you don't have VCDS or that it doesn't work?
