Q5 3,0T S-line splash-guards.

I live on a gravel road which is pretty messy when it rains or the snow melts, and kicks up gravel when dry. The mud gets up pretty high on the sides. So I ordered splash-guards for my new Q5 3.0T PP. They were delivered to the dealer, but the Service Group says they don't fit the S-Line body trim which is on my PP, and can't be installed. Anybody have a similar issue, and an alternate?

I'm not sure if they're the same thing you ordered, but my Q came with these black pieces of plastic that sticks out 3/4" from the fender. Never seen anything like them before, but they seem to help.

I've got the front ones only. They're new for 2013 and fit S-line b/c they're smaller than previous models. Part number is 8R0-075-111-B.

Do you mind posting a pic or two so I (we) can see how this looks? I'm considering for mine as well.

The front ones fit OK, but the rear bumper is sculpted a lot more and there is a gap between the splash guard and the bumper. I trimmed the splash guard a little and added double sided tape, but there is still a 1/4" gap. It is not perfect, but a lot better than having the car's finish damaged by dirt. It irritated me initially, but now I hardly see it. If/when Audi brings out splash guards for the s-line trim I will get it. . |

Here are a few photos of mine.
First two photos are the front, they start at the back bottom of the fender and go up to about the center. The third photo is the rear, it starts at the back bottom of the fender and goes up about 1/4 of the way. My Q is a highway queen so I can't speak to gravel/mud being through up on the side, but I haven't noticed the normal water rooster tail that typically blows up the side of most vehicles in the rain. |
