Default q5 3.2l aux water pump help

hi guys,

im having heating issues, and changed my water pump and t stat on my 2010 q5 3.2l. I'm looking to change the aux water pump as well, but can't find anything on the location of it, and i've searched through the forums.

Anyone have any input on this? I'd really appreciate it, thanks in advance!

I did not read through this thread thoroughly but remembered the discussion/diagrams about aux pumps here:
https://www.audiworld.com/forums/q5-...pdate-2959572/

Take a look and see if you maybe find something useful.

You may not have the aux pump. I've been looking for the same thing since acquiring my first Q5 last week, and discovered that I don't have the aux pump. V51 on the diagram below does not exist on my US 2010 Q5 3.2. If you have it, you should be able to see it by removing the underbody front noise insulating panel that covers that area. The heater core sits right there and it's easy to follow the pipes into the engine (in my case) or the aux pump if it's there.

Default I had the same issue

Several years ago I had the same issue and I had to replace the aux pump.

I am from Canada and I have a Canadian model and I can definitely say that the pump is not located as in the diagram in my case! I've read that it has the winter package option by default.

It is on the passenger side right under the air filter box. However you will access it by removing the under engine plate. It is really easy to see.

It took me 15 min to replace.

I hope it helps.

Cheers

M.

The OP indicated "auxiliary" cooling pump. Well Audi doesn't really call their pumps by that name.

This is the V50 Coolant circulation pump info. Seems to have various locations and may, or may not, be there at all, depending upon the vehicle configurations.

I'll have to follow Martin's lead and look in a different spot, perhaps mine is on the passenger side too, after all! I'm looking for the source of the same problem... no heat at idle. Let us know what you find @kmongru !

So I changed the aux pump today, It was quick and easy, it took me longer to thread the bolt than the whole job. Mine was also located on the front passenger side on the bottom. Definitely not like the diagram.

I am still stumped. I don't have heat at idle. I have super hot heat once the engine is revved.

I"ve changed the t stat, main water pump, flushed and backflushed heater core, and now aux pump.

Anyone have any other suggestions,

there's also a t fitting that comes off the heater core outlet, by the firewall before the gromet, that I'm speculating does something to this? i'm not sure. Ill post some pics asap, maybe someone has some insight, or other suggestions.

thanks so much everyone
