Q5 now or wait and see about Porsche Mccan???

Have anyone heard much about the upcoming Porsche small CUV call Mccan? It's all over youtube and is a 2014 model. Suppose to be announce sometime this year and hopefully sooner rather than later. I think early fall is the time.

Any thoughts? Current Porsche Cayenne base model starts at $49k, Q5 starts at $43K for V6 and $35K for 2.0T, so thinking Mccan must be around $40 to $45K start.

Has anyone even thinking about it?

Funny you bring this up. I was just reading about it a couple days ago.

here is an quick blurb from Car and Driver about it......One engine offering might be the Audi 2.0T, might as well just buy and Audi....

Mccan? Fail.

Based on past experience with Porsche, a $45K base price means $65K out the door. Everything is extra, think $400 for a set of four wheel center caps. I'm sure Porsche will find plenty of buyers, I just won't be one of them.

I'd be all for it in a few years, but would want to see a more premium engine offered and potential manual tranny option as well.

Those could sway me for a next future purchase.

The body style looks nice for sure.

Cayenne = uglier Touareg, Macan = uglier Q5. No thanks on my end. :D

I heard about this over a year ago, but I thought it was called the Porsche Cajun?

Cajun was the internal codename while it was in development. Macan is the real model name under which it'll be sold.
