Quick question on MMI

Got my Moonlight Blue/Cinnamon Q5 last week; will post some pictures soon.

I had a quick question on the MMI screen. I haven't had the time to go through all the settings as of yet but if anyone knows then I will really appreciate this.

In Night Mode, the NAV map shows a grey band on the top of the screen. it is about half an inch vertically (from top). Is this some kind of setting that needs to get adjusted? If I use the joy stick and move down then I see the whole map on the screen but then I have to set a destination.

I hope I made this clear and not confused everyone.

BTW really love the Q5; what an amazing car!

Congrats on the new car !!!

common question - most of us wondered that too :)
the display is so good, that is the 'horizon'

it shows blue sky and the curvature of the earth during the day :) j/k

I keep looking for the moon!
(you do know you can toggle "daylight" mode anytime?)
When it rains during daytime and I put on all of the lights the night screen can be annoying.

You can hit setup on NAV and change the map from position 3D to position 2D or something along those lines I'm just trying to guess it from memory, that way it will be a normal top-down NAV. I don't think you can override the night mode but when you have Auto lights on your lo-beams and indicator lights come on in the rain when they're needed, without switching the car and NAV to 'night mode' - I found this out by crawling up behind a shiny car in the rain.

Plus I like 3D because that horizon reminds me of the "fog of war". Hopefully someone gets the reference.

Where did you get your from? I was going to get the same color combo in socal and when the dealer called to do the trade, it was sold. I wonder if its the same one.

I ended up with a White on Black combo.

Night mode can be overridden no matter which light setting is on, even Auto. You can navigate through MMI or do what I do and use Voice command "Day Map" or "Night Map." For some reason, "Auto Map" doesn't work so I have to select that through MMI. You can also use "2D Map" or "3D Map." I've been using the Voice commands for other functions more and more (like phone) and now I can't imagine not having it.
