Right Rear Light error light

Right Rear Light error light
I keep getting an error code of "right rear light" even though the light is on and fully functioning. Is there something that I'm doing wrong that could cause this code?

Open the rear hatch and see if it is one the bulbs in the bumper that is burned out.
