My tire pressures were correct when we took delivery of our Q5 a year ago. I was given a pre-delivery inspection sheet with about 50 items on it (all checked off), including tire pressures set to 33 psi.
It's hard to believe that Audi doesn't mandate that all their dealers do this. Maybe that's part of the reason Audi's initial quality numbers haven't been too terrific lately.
Seems like an easy thing for a dealer to get right...every time.

20" Ride
I have the s-line w/20" wheel option on my Q5 and have to also point out, the tire used can make a huge difference. I had the stock 20" summer bridgestones on the car when delivered. I thought the ride was 'ok' as far as harshness, but I recently swapped out the tires for all seasons (yokohama prada spec-x) in the 20"..same ratio tire. And wow. The ride has improved considerably - for example, I cross two sets of railroad tracks on my way to work - before the new tires, it was a dramatic bump, now with the new ones, barely noticeable.
Just keep in mind the tire and how hard the sidewalls are made a huge difference in how hard/harsh the ride is. There are compromises - the softer tire=softer/more comfortable ride, but you are giving up some of the cornering of the car..for me it was worthwhile, for others maybe not.
so if you are looking for a more comfortable ride and willing to give up some of the carving of the car - try an all-season with softer sidewalls..

VERY old thread, but thought I would post my thanks. Even on comfort, I thought my Q was a little harsh (and I prefer my suspension stiff - that's what she said ).
Anyways, last night I searched Google and found this thread. Went out this morning and sure enough my tires were 50+ PSI. I set them to 33 PSI and I'm happy to say the ride is much more compliant. What a difference ~20 PSI makes!
Cheers,
Rick
