snow tire rims
i recently got a 2018 A4 Allroad. i have snow tires from my previous car a 2015 Q5. i know the tires themselves won't transfer over to my Allroad but i was wondering if the rims could be re-used

Ian, it's likely things will bolt up to the new car, the bolt pattern should be 5X112mm on both. The issue would be adequate clearance. I guess I'd say give it a try and see if you have the necessary clearances.

What is the rim width? I'd get the narrowest tire that reasonably fits that rim. There are charts online showing the range that fits different rims based on overall tire size.
245/40R19 and 245/45R18 are the OEM size. If you have 18" I'd stick with 245/45. If you have 17" depending on rim width, 225/55R17 should fit, that's probably the best option for the best traction and hydroplane resistance in slush. Narrower is almost always better. Smoother ride on broken roads with taller profile, and the tires are cheaper too.
