Default Door Panel Rust?

Trying not to panic, but noticed a small patch of rust specs on the inner door panel. Planning to visit dealer for a more detailed inspection. Anyone else see this? I have a 2010 3.2 with 10k miles. It looks like the rust warranty may not cover this...

The rust warranty only cover rust thru, not surface rust.

We have an intern who picked up a 2001 A4 and he had a bit of rust in the A-pillar. WHen I told him that it was probably covered he wouldn't believe me but took it to the dealer anyways. Audi fixed it last month under warranty.

Hi Q5ACK,

I'd like to do a follow-up on your post below. I have a 2012 Q5 that is not 1 year old, and I saw the color of my roof change, near the front doors. It looks like an orange color, which could mean rust marks. I am concerned and will go to the dealer to discuss, but I would like to know more about what was your experience with this..? Did they fix it? What was the problem?

Thanks

They'll cover it if it's caused by a defect in parts or manufacturing. Audi will fix it before it rusts through and becomes a much bigger problem. I've seen it enough times and it's alway taken care of.

Audi is now taking a new hard line on rust coverage.. to many claims. The Autobody shop tells me Audis first response is now always "no" and caused by external damage.
