Default Sport mode with 2.0T?

Does the 8-speed transmission on the 2.0T have a sport mode? It is often mentioned with the 3.0T when talking about the 8-speed.

It sure does. When you shift into Drive, if you pull the lever down (instead of the right for manual mode) you will see the D turn to S on your little info display in the cluster.

Can you put the car into Sport mode while driving or do you have to be stopped to do this?

You're not really driving unless you're in Sport or Manual.

You're only getting from Point A to Point B in Drive.

Great, that is what I was hoping. Wouldn't sport mode help when climbing a grade (to reduce gear hunting)?

All it does is keep you in gear longer before upshifting. When you are WOT in D, it shifts well before you hit redline. When you need to climb a hill your Q5 will downshift no matter if you're in D or S if you're already in a high gear.
