Thanks for the great tip. I've been using a Speed Master Wheel Brush to clean the barrel's of my rims, but sometimes I can not quite apply enough pressure with the Speed Master brush. A paint stick with strips of sponge glued on should do the trick. Just ordered the Speed Master Jr Wheel Brush to clean the backside of the spokes on my factory five spoke wheels.

The only and best way is steel wool and your favorite metal polish. Put the polish on the tips and rub with steel wool, allow it to dry and polish off with a microfiber. I use Mothers Chrome Polish

Yep, steel wool was the only thing that worked for me.

Steel wool and polish can work on pitted stainless steel exhausts and on carbon build up on chrome exhaust tips. Some of the problem with the right exhaust tip shown at start of this thread seems to be deep pitting that has worn through the chrome plating. I had this problem with a BMW M3. Aplying chrome paint only to the rolled part of tip and then clear coating made the repair almost invisible and required little time or effort.

Like stated above. Steel Wool PERIOD!

There is nothing wrong with the tips if you don't know how to clean them. Our 2014 still looks like the day it was delivered.

I would not use SOS pads if they're steel wool. I use Brasso and a paper towel.

I doubt that SOS pads are 0000. Why use steel wool at all when a paper towel works? I've been using paper towels for almost 40K miles.
