This is one big reason I had no interest looking at wheels any bigger than the standard 18". I guess I'm getting old too.

Yep... a couple of in-depth reviews have stated that US-spec SQ5's get all the euro-spec SQ5 suspension bits EXCEPT the lowered springs (due to laws in the US requiring a vehicle reclassification trigger i.e. light truck vs. passenger car), and that is really the only negative if you want to call it what with the US-spec version of the car - it takes a bit longer to "load up" the suspension when taking corners given the higher ride / center of gravity.

I have no doubt there will be aftermarket springs made available for SQ5's to remedy the difference.

I'll add that my passengers have also commented on how comfortable the ride is. I've had both a Boxster owner and an Equus owner rave equally about the handling and ride - there's a couple of extremes for you.

The previous BMW X3 was harsh - it felt almost truck like

The American version SQ5 has a complete different suspension from the European version.
They did not just springs
There are parts of the mark 1BD and 2MT

Note to self: take reviews with a grain of salt. Thanks spijun

I know I'm looking forward to a decently priced setup that will give the SQ5 the same ride height as all the Euro pictures.
