Default Steering Squeak

So my new 2017 Q5 has an intermittent squeak in the steering that comes on usually after an hour or so of driving. There's also an annoying rubber to rubber feel in the wheel. The dealer, of course, can't duplicate but refers to TSB 2023187/5. Said it was normal and would go away after break in but couldn't tell me how long. They also wouldn't give me a copy. Any one else experience this? Know where I can pick up the TSB?

Thanks in advance.

I have a 2016 Q5 and had a steering wheel squeak. It also felt somewhat rough when turning the wheel. I took it in to get serviced, and the dealer said there was a grommet that they lubricated. The squeak didn't stop straight away, but it did go away eventually.

Thanks Speedoooo. The dealer didn't do anything beyond point the TSB. I'm trying to hunt down a copy.

I have the same issue and it's driving me nuts. Mine is a 2017 3.0 which has been squeaking after only a few weeks of driving it. Does yours squeak if it's in park and you just move the steering wheel left or right? Mine does and it feels like it's rubbing against something. It's not smooth like any other car I've ever driven.

Yes! I have the same issue on my 2017 3.0.

This issue has been reported on many electric steering models. "Fixes" have been lubricating or replacing the grommet and even replacing the steering rack under warranty (which Audi no longer approves). The rubbing noise/feel always comes back eventually, especially in warmer weather. Poor design. In my case I've learned to ignore it and turn up the radio volume.

Thanks for your response. Because it's intermittent, I know they aren't/can't do anything about it. Like you, I'll have to live with it. One minor annoyance on an otherwise great ride.
