It's great we have a choice and personally I think it's a good tradeoff - added weight up top vs sitting in a dark cave. For me this is a comfortable SUV that handles nice and looks good. Not a sports car though.

Default Takes Autobahn speeds to find it...

BTDT. By 115MPH with optimal conditions and little to no traffic, the most modest of sweepers that would hardly look like a curve in North America can start to become white knuckle or where you want to back off. Plus by 105-110 the hood is starting to vibrate and shake from the aero forces. Never going to see these speeds here, and now getting rare even in Germany w/ the congestion and many posted speeds. But, I clearly found the limits, and on the Q5 they really are the handling at speed. In particular, you can definitely feel the top heavy nature, and cross winds are also pretty noticeable.

In those scenarios my A8 or other performance sedans with a good suspension would be the easy choice. Here in the U.S. it hardly matters other than the aero drag penalty, though again my Audi sedans probably get another 10MPH through Sierra curves over the Q5 with little drama. Q5 good as it goes for its class though, or taller vehicles generally.

Just saw the specs for the SQ5 (sunroof vs delete), and remembered this thread. Looks like Audi is saying there is more headroom with the sunroof.

Head room with sunroof (in, front) 39.4
Head room with sunroof (in, rear) 39.0
Head room (in, front) 38.1
Head room (in, rear) 37.7
