It's really worth it to buy the cable. You'll do more with it than you think, and will want it at times you'll wish you had bought it.
There are bunches of sites to pull items from. Research it well before trying (esp getting into he hidden menu).
You can use that list as a starting place if you like.
Good luck!

Yes, it will work with non-NAV. It's called "concert" or MMI 2G...

Hidden menu: C99 reported (http://www.a5oc.com/forums/showthrea...x.html?p=32223) in an A5OC.com thread how you can access a hidden maintenance menu via MMI. (This may require the "real" MMI 2G, it may not work on a Concert/Symphony radio and MMI 3G hidden menu is enabled differently, see below. See here for more on the "real" MMI vs. radios: http://a6retrofit.tripod.com/articles/a4a5realmmi.html).
Apparently you can access this hidden menu by holding down CAR and SETUP for five/six seconds. There are whole host of settings you can access here, like adjusting MMI timings, visible options - apparently you can even adjust the TV blackout speed or remove it. I hear you can also make CAR menu selections appear without speed limit. WARNING! According to reports don't select "Bootloader", it will lock the system in a software update mode without a way out (http://www.a5oc.com/forums/showthrea...x.html?p=38153)... Some general info on the same/similar hidden menu in A6 is here: http://www.motor-talk.de/forum/aktio...7283&ajax=true. If this menu doesn’t work and your MMI version is up to date, you need to enable the menu with the following VAG-COM steps: Head unit controller (07), Adaptation, Channel 8, change 0 to 1, Save.

In comparing the PDF's that Spijun has provided to the boards, the new brembo calipers should fit not problem.
I am staying with the same size rotors from MY 2011-MY 2013, so nothing changes there.
The mounting areas on the front suspension arm are exactly the same for both old and new components.
Plus, the Rotor Screw (N 106 483 01), the Splash/Heat Shield Screw (N 107 414 02), and the Caliper Mount Bolt (N 911 476 01) are all the same between model years. Meaning that everything should have the same dimensions, etc.
There should be no issues at all according to the parts diagrams, just plug & play. I got new bolts for both front sides for the calipers mount, rotor mount and heat shield mount, just because they are cheap so why not?
Getting excited to see the results. Can't hardly wait for Monday/Tuesday.
The biggest issue would be if you are coming from 18" or 19" wheels in the pre-facelift MY's, as the Brembo brakes are bigger. I'm running 20" wheels which shouldn't cause any issues, plus I'll be running spacers if all looks good.
Maybe that's why they dropped the 19" 5-arm wheel and the 18" 10-spoke from the 2013 MY?
