Using Google maps/navigation via MMI doesn't work
I prefer using the Google navigation on my phone over the navigation in the Q5. Problem is that after I connect my Android phone, only music and phone calls work through the cars' audio while other functions like the phone navigation voice commands or Ok Google commands do not come through.
Is there a way to set that up or is it simply not supported. It works just fine in my old truck via a cheap Sony head unit, but haven't been able to get it to work on the Q5. It's a 2013 Premium Plus model.
Thoughts?

Volume setting of your smartphone will affect the input level into the MMI audio. Your phone system volume level maybe low while your audio output is high. I don't believe smartphone volume for telephone calls affect Bluetooth telephone.
So check the volume levels on your android setup screen.
My Samsung Note 4 with Android version 4.4.4 has four volume settings:
-Ringtone
-Music, video, games, and other media
-Notifications
-System
Hope this solves it for you.

I checked that and it isn't the problem. I think that MMI only allows phone usage and music playback, but other apps that are on the phone cannot be used, such as google navigation from the phone.
