VERY high mileage Q5... good buy ??

Hello everyone, long time lurker here but I just created the account to ask a question. I read a lot more than I post ;)

I currently own a 2009 Audi A3 but I'm looking for a Q5 for my wife and as our "family" vehicle. I maintain all my cars by myself and I am not afraid to do dirty work.

Now, while shopping for a Q5, I stumbled upon that VERY surprising specimen. Its a fully loaded 2009 prestige model (from the pics, equip, etc...) with, sit down, 212500 MILES !! or 340000km. That's basically 85000km per year driving ?

I have own a lot of high mileage cars myself. I drive around 65000km a year for work and have always felt that high mileage cars were nothing to be afraid of when well maintained. Especially when mostly driven on the highway.

I have sold may high mileage cars over the years and I have never looked backwards or have never had the impression of selling a bad car to anyone. Most of them have been over 250000km, even one had 310000km (1996 Nissan Maxima, still being driven today...).

Anyways, I guess I have never been on the other side of the fence.. buying a super high mileage car for myself.

The savings are at least 10000$ from a normal mileage car from the same year (80000-120000). I haven't found a prestige for sale under 26000$ so far.

I know most of the questions will be around maintenance records, has the engine been replaced, transmission, etc etc...

Let's say the maintenance records are all there and all make sense. Let's say its all been just basic normal maintenance and that the car is currently in excellent mechanical and esthetical shape... Would you make the purchase thinking the 10000$ savings could be used to repair it if it broke down in the future ?

My wife drives about 10km per day going to work and I'm guessing the vehicle would see maybe 150-300km per week if used as family vehicle ?

( I'm in Canada if you can't tell already :P )

Thanks for any advice !!

What spijun said! These cars are very expensive to repair and at over 200,000 miles, it's going to need plenty of repairs.
