Default Water Pump Replacement

Hello everyone,

I have had my 2010 Q5 3.2 v6 for about 7 months now and the water pump is leaking. I bought the car needing an engine replacement but we only replaced the Aux water pump. The new engine has approx. 75k miles now. However, I need some direction since I plan to do this myself.

I have attached a pic with the old engine being removed and wanted to confirm that the circle is where the pump is? Or is it the one to the right? (Im certain thats the power steering pump)
What are the specs to tighten the bolts on the pulley and pump? It seems as though it should be the same as the A6 3.2? I want to confirm before I start this project. I also wont be putting the bumper in service position.
Also, is the VW 3212 Pin Wrench a necessity to hold the pulley in place?

Thanks

I would recommend spending $20 on a service manual from ALLDATAdiy. If someone has access they could also just take screenshots for you but you're probably going to need it again later. https://checkout.alldatadiy.com/adec...gine=173184138

Thank you for your suggestions. I just did the work yesterday using just the PDFs. The job wasn't as hard as I thought. Putting back the belt was actually the hardest part but I got a serpentine tool from amazon which helped. Took about 2 hours but I stopped frequently.

I question that you should inspect the timing chain tensioner since you have access to the engine. While I am not aware of a problem with this engine's tensioner, it might be a good idea. Also change the motor mounts too.

Further to Dennis's comment on timing chain tensioner.I have found that this system is very sensitive to quality of oil and frequency of changes. If this was all done properly the V6 timing setup is pretty bullet-proof.
