What year Q5 should I buy from 2010 - 2013???

Thanks. Yeah, I have made the decision to buy a 2013 or 14 if I do this (thanks to you folks). I start there when I do my searching.
Are you suggesting that I start late-12, perhaps (pre-facelift)? Because that would give me some leeway on price and mileage, which would really help. I thought the carbon thing and a few other issues were still lingering at that point, no? Don't some of the '12's still drink (oil) like they're on spring break?

Apparently got my Q's and A's confused then. Thanks for the correction.
On the 2012's still having problems, I don't know just when which parts made the 2012-2013 transition, you'd want to make sure if you were looking at a 2012 though.
On the brakes...I can only say that once I heard a man having a long loud argument about the brakes on his new GM top end product needing replacement, and when the shop checked everything out (and there was a lot less to check) all they could say is "Maybe you are keeping your foot on the brake pedal when you drive?" which REALLY pissed the customer off. Funny thing, when he drove away, his brake lights were no ALL THE TIME. Meaning, the shop was probably right on that one. Some people two-foot the pedals, and just ride the brake all the time.
I can't see another obvious way to go through pads in 14,000 miles, unless there was a gross mechanical problem that the shop missed twice. Might want to make the sale conditional on some other shop checking it out and confirming there were no brake mysteries. Or, having the seller provide an extended warranty on the brakes--their risk.
