Default When is the next all-new Q5 due?

I am considering a Euro Delivery 2015 Q5 for early summer this year. But I don't want to do this if an all-new Q5 is just around the corner.

(For example, the all-new 2016 Q7 has already been shown, so I would not buy a Q7 right now.)

I hate to buy cars that are just about to be replaced with a significantly new model, no matter how good the current model is.

Does anyone have any idea on timing of an all-new Q5?

Thanks!

It'll be a 2017 model year, and it'll be made in Mexico, so you won't be able to do Euro Delivery anymore.

Instead it will be complimentary tequila, evading drug gangs, and a complicated border crossing at Otay Mesa! ;-)

All joking aside; the factory in Mexico is already having lots of problems with quality, theft, learning the production system. The VWs that have come from the Mexico plant have been plagued with quality and reliability issues.
I would not buy one of these until the problems have been worked out. Originally the plant was to produce the new 2016 model but now that has been pushed out to 2017.
I would bet that the ordered 2016 model will be produced in Germany so go ahead and enjoy a nice trip.

Could you provide some details on the Audi plant problems. I haven't seen any articles about Audi production problems @ San Jose Chiapa facility. I've read that the plant will not start production until May 2016.

Honda, I understand, has some documented articles in regards to procduction problems.

I do not think anything has been in the press about Audi's plant yet, its too new. The formation of my opinion is based on: I work with several manufactures in Mexico and these problems apply everywhere.
Cultural issues are huge (especially with the German quality culture trying to influence the Mexican culture) , supply chain issues - constant theft, blocking of deliveries, bribes. Drug gangs causing more and more problems. I even know a scenario where plant workers must give part of their wages (bribe) to supervisors just to stay employed. This is not the USA or Europe!! All of these things will take time to work out. Heck at my place of work we have been working on these issues for a decade with marginal improvements. I have major doubts that Audi figures this out on it's first try. VW certainly did not. Honda has debated pulling out several times.

It's a bit disappointing that Audi chose Mexico. Make your 20k$ Jettas and Golfs there if you want, but 50k$ premium cars shouldn't be made there. The plant should've been built in th US if Germany was too expensive.

I agree 100%. way too unsafe in Mexico. When my son traveled for his company to Mexico he had a security guy with him from the time he left his room till he locked the door at night.
U don't see people crossing the border going south, do u?
