Sunroof Squeak After Service
So I noticed I have the dreaded sunroof squeak this cold frigid morning in New England. I never had it before my 35k maintenance a week and a half ago. One of the things they did was clean the roof tracks. It's really noisy over bumps and turns and sounds like the roof is ready to come off. After doing some research here, the solutions I found were to lubricate the tracks and rubber seals; and to have the dealer remove and realign the roof. I'm thinking it's too much of a coincidence that this happened on a frigid day soon after the dealer serviced the roof. Is the roof removed for this type of service?

Minor Issue for Us
Taking the Q in next week for the 35K stuff.
2 issues I want to have checked out
1) Squeeky brakes just before the stop. Getting quit loud too.
2) Slight noise from the roof window now that it is cold.
After reading these posts just may not mention anything about the window noise as we will be in Florida in 3 weeks and staying till April too. Suppose to be 10 below in Wisconsin tonight.

Thanks for posting this procedure Spijun. Last time I was at the dealer, I asked them to order some of the sunroof lube they use so I can take care of this myself. I have no issues so far and would like to keep it that way. I would probably be fine using a generic light grease but I wanted to get the “official” stuff to make sure it was compatible with the materials being lubed. What they ordered for me was a 160g tube of G 060 751 A2 for only $40, what a deal! I asked if that included a service tech to apply it for me, they were not amused. It comes in a short cartridge with a long nozzle that you have to put into a caulking gun to use. There’s probably enough to last longer than the car will but unfortunately it says “useable until 08/15” on the label. I’ve never seen grease with an expiration date, must be an Audi thing. Getting back to the procedure, there are 2 different lubricants listed for various mechanical pieces and a 3rd for the rubber seals.
Lubricant G 060 751 A2 for guide rails, slides (front glass lid)
Paste G 060 751 A3 for lid mechanism, guide plate lead (front and rear glass lid)
Krytox paste G 052 141 A2 for seals
Is this really necessary? I can only assume that one is for metal, one for plastic and the other for rubber. Also, in the procedure, the A3 product looks like an aerosol but is called a paste, maybe just a translation issue? I’m thinking that I should have stuck with a light weight general purpose lube for the whole thing and saved about $39. If anyone has any info or experience doing this procedure that they would like to share, I would appreciate it.
